Kate Cammell is a multimedia storyteller focusing on culture and lifestyle writing. Her areas of interest include gender, sexuality, relationships, religion, travel and literature. As a graduate student at Columbia Journalism School, she's written about religious education in New York City, the intersection of religion and sex-ed, the lifestyle YouTube industry,marriage on evangelical college campuses, sexual health access in Mississippi and about a Midwestern megachurch going virtual during COVID-19. Her undergraduate thesis on dating culture, "Millennial Love Letters" received Highest Honors and the University of Michigan Honors Department's Virginia Voss Award. Her essay collection on religion and travel in India, "To the Sky" was the recipient of the University of Michigan's Hopwood Award for Nonficiton.
Kate's work has appeared in Covering Religion, Medium, The Grade, New York Magazine, SHEI Magazine, Midwestern Gothic Literary Journal, The Shapiro Review and The RC Review.
